What are the requirements to enroll in the school?
To enroll you need to have proof of a High School Diploma or GED, Social Security card, and driver's license (or learner’s permit, Government issued ID card, etc.).
Do I need to pay all of my tuition up-front?
No. Any remaining balance may be paid upon a monthly basis that is customizable. We try to make our education as affordable as possible to help students gain employment with little debt. We can work out a budget plan that fits your needs!
I want to perform waxing, piercing, or tattooing services, does the school offer that?
Yes. Other programs we provide certificates for are: eyelash extensions, tattooing, make up, and more. Our prices are posted on the website under the "Services" tab.
I have a part-time job, how can I go to school at the same time?
Our school offers a part-time educational track that is flexible for our students throughout the week. More details can be found on the website or simply by calling the school and having our friendly staff assist you.
What if I have taken 'beauty' classes in other states but have not finished, are those hours still good to use at Atlanta Beauty & Barber Academy?
Yes, please send us your transcript through mail or fax so that we may help you become fully licensed. Our comprehensive courses ensure that you get more than enough hours to be successful in your beauty career. If you want to come in to talk to our staff with your transcript, feel free to do so.
Are we allowed to tour the school?
Absolutely, just give us a call to let us know of your arrival so we can accommodate your visit!
What happens after I graduate/receive a certification from the school? Do I get help?
Atlanta Beauty & Barber Academy cares about its students. We post up employer flyers that seek licensed and certified students on our "Job Board." Don't be afraid to ask for help, that is what the school is here for!
Can I go to work immediately after receiving my certificate of completion? Is that acceptable by state board?
No. You must be licensed before you can start working in the Master Cosmetology, Barber, Nail Technician, Esthetician. However, professions such as permanent make up only need a certificate since state board does not regulate it. If you have any concerns, please feel free to ask one of us.
Can I use my license and training in other states outside of Georgia?
YES! We purposely educate our students with MORE hours than required by the Georgia State Board of Cosmetology, and meets the needs of many other states that require more hours from potential applicants. As a result, our students are free to move and live anywhere in the United States and be legal to work and continue their career.
I have a license from another state, could you help me apply for a Georgia license?
Yes, depending on which state you originally obtained a license in. Georgia does not reciprocate with all states, so you may need to go to school in order to obtain those additional hours. Just call or come in with your license to see what you need in order to become licensed.
What if I want to get beauty services performed?
You don't need to be a student to enjoy our deeply discounted beauty services. Call the school (770-449-1740) if you have any questions, make an appointment (however, walk-ins are also welcome!), and come relax! Our services are generally 70% LESS than going to any other salon.
